No matter how many times I have to look at his obnoxiously attractive, insufferably arrogant rear end, I won’t break. I won’t even bend. Adrian: I won’t break her, but she’s absolutely going to bend. Over my desk, I think. Or maybe the couch in reception?

I absolutely loved Penelope Bloom’s Object of Attraction series because of the sexy humor, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and the witty characters the author displayed in each of those books. Because I loved that series so much, I couldn’t wait to read this first book of the Boss(hole) duo. Now that I’m done…wow, so disappointed! I literally stopped half way through to confirm it was written by the same author who I had enjoyed so much in the past.I had high hopes for this book, and the beginning didn’t disappoint. There was the same type of witty banter that I had loved in the Object series, and I found myself literally laughing out loud at some of the hilariously embarrassing situations the characters found themselves in. But I knew it was going downhill when the author announced in one chapter that Jules/Juliette was a virgin but then a few chapters later had her “getting in on” with her well-endowed boss, Adrian, with no mention of her virginity at all. Just lazy writing and editing, in my opinion. From there, it just got worse. Getting through this one was a chore, and the storyline and ending were so predictable: guy falls for girl, they accomplish their mission of taking down the evil corporation, and get married. Bleh.I won’t be reading the follow-up book because I couldn’t care less about either of these characters.
