I have read it in a few reviews already but I don’t think it can be understated: this does not come off as a first book. It is sensational and so great in every way you wouldn’t guess this is a debut novel! Every word, every page, every detail so thoughtfully and wonderfully and lovingly pieced together to tell the beautiful second chance, small town romance of Chase and Alina.I love that the story is separated into two parts. You really see Chase’s growth from a messed up teenager who doesn’t know how to be loved to the full grown man who knows he messed up and wants to prove himself. He goes through such a beautiful transistion from angry thirteen year old boy to a strong man who works every day on himself to be what Alina deserves and needs from him.Second chance romances are so great for showing character development and the love between these two really highlights the emotions of young love and proves that even soul mates need to come together in the right place and time.Alina has a lot on her shoulders and in the present just wants to keep herself together and not fall back on her old ways and get her heart broken again. But faced with the true love of her life, all grown up and ready to love her right, she can’t resist him for long.I wish I had the beautiful words to convey how fantastic this book is but Chase and Alina’s story gripped me and wouldn’t let me go until I was finished.
